Massive voting fraud coming to Maryland election

- by Delegate Pat McDonough (R-7) -

Delegate Pat McDonough, Candidate for Congress, is charging that Maryland will be in victim of massive voter fraud in the upcoming election.  A few years ago, members of “Voter’s Alliance,” a volunteer group, conducted an investigation in Frederick County, that uncovered a large number of non-citizens voting in Maryland’s elections.  The group discovered that these non-citizens were called in for Jury Duty.  When the non-citizens arrived at the Jury office, they admitted that although they were registered voters, they were not citizens.  They confirmed they were violating the law by signing a required legal document at the Jury office.

Under present Court rules and state law, the information contained in the documents confirming a non-citizen is registered to vote is to be forwarded to the State Election Board.  Step 2 requires the Election Board to remove this individual from the voting list and provide the information to the State Prosecutor for future action.  None of these mandated actions are being initiated at this time.  This means the law is not being enforced and the violators are not being punished.  The system is broken and some public figures may need to be called on to provide answers.  Remember, at the federal level, these violations are a felony.

Multiplying the number of non-citizen voters discovered in Frederick County by the other 23 sub-divisions brings us to the conclusion  that the number of non-citizen voters could be in the thousands in Maryland.  This scandal is not a Democrat, Republican or partisan issue.  This challenge is about great leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King and Susan B. Anthony who put their lives on the line to maintain equality and integrity in the voter process.

It is hard to believe in this day and age with modern technology, the non-citizens are voting unlawfully.  It is even more difficult to believe that these unlawful voters are getting away with this violation and are remaining on the voter’s rolls.

This scandal is a form of suppression of voters’ rights.  Our votes are being cancelled or diluted by a non-citizen who is voting at the same time.

Delegate Pat McDonough attempted to remedy this situation with legislation in the 2016 session of the Maryland General Assembly.  The Delegate’s House Bill 1122, the “Voter Disclosure Act,” would introduce a common sense chain of actions that would protect the voting rolls of Maryland.  The State Jury system would be compelled to forward any information discovered about non-citizens voting within 5 business days to the Election Board.  The Election Board would then be required to remove the violators’ names from the voting lists and forward their information to the State Prosecutor for appropriate actions.  House Bill 1122 failed in committee by a vote of 12 to 8, along partisan lines.

Delegate Pat McDonough is now demanding that several key actions must be initiated in order to protect Maryland voters during the upcoming election.

First, he is sending a letter of complaint to the State Prosecutor’s office requesting that they summon information from all Jury clerks in every sub-division requiring them to provide any information related to non-citizens being called to Jury Duty and rejected.

Second, in the spirit of bipartisanship, Delegate McDonough will be providing this information to his opponent in this current election and requesting that Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger  contact Maryland U.S. Attorney Rosenstein to investigate this matter because it is a violation of federal law.  Delegate McDonough stated, “I am asking Congressman Ruppersberger to join me in a partnership to protect the voting rights of Maryland’s citizens.”

Ruppersberger hits back at McDonough on 9-11 bill

- by Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger -

Once again, Pat McDonough’s incoherent rantings reflect his inexperience on national security issues, and more disturbingly, his inability to put politics aside for the safety of our country.

In recent days - and in this newspaper - Pat is criticizing my vote against legislation that would enable Sept. 11 families to sue Saudi Arabia. In one of the toughest votes of my time in office, I voted to support a Presidential veto of the bill because our national security experts - including the CIA chief, Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - warned it could open U.S. troops and intelligence workers to similar lawsuits in other countries by lifting what is known as sovereign immunity. A group of Iraqis are already threatening to sue U.S. troops for alleged war crimes. It could also force the disclosure of classified military secrets in courtrooms around the world.

What Pat is not telling you is that just one day after the vote, Congressional leaders in both parties - who supported the successful veto override - began to express buyer’s remorse. Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan conceded that the law needs to be changed so that our “service members do not have legal problems.” Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell shared similar reservations, saying it “appears there may be some unintended ramifications … worth further discussing.”

Courage isn’t voting for a bill that you hope to change later. Courage is voting against a bad bill even if it might hurt you politically - because that’s the right thing to do for our troops and our country.  Pat wouldn’t understand that because he votes with his party far more often than I do, despite his campaign rhetoric to the contrary. As usual with Pat, facts be damned.

In one of Pat’s typical Facebook posts on this subject, he cropped a photo of me standing next to a man dressed in typical Islamic fashion, the racist suggestion being that my cozy relationship with the Saudis is one reason I supported this legislation. Nevermind that the man is actually a defense minister from the United Arab Emirates, whom I met with to discuss counter-terror efforts to protect our country.

That’s why I stand behind my record of fighting terrorism and bringing the perpetrators of heinous acts like September 11 to justice, including Osama bin Laden.   The 9-11 victims and their families deserve relief, but the benefits of this bill could unfortunately endanger more American lives. If only more lawmakers had the political fortitude to back the veto, Congress wouldn’t be scrambling to undo it today.

Ruppersberger votes against 9-11 families

- by Delegate Pat McDonough (R-7) -

The Senate voted 97 to 1 to override President Obama’s veto of the “Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act.”

The House voted for the override by a margin of 348 to 77. It was an overwhelming bipartisan victory. The new law will allow the families of the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attack to have their day in court.

Dutch Ruppersberger was one of the 77 Democrats who voted to support Obama’s veto and against the 9-11 families. The law only applies to terrorism.

The families of the 9-11 victims have lobbied Congress for this legislation for almost a decade. “We rejoice in this triumph and look forward to our day in court and a time when we may finally get more answers regarding who was truly behind the attack,” said Terry Strada, National Chairwoman of the 9-11 Families and Survivors United for Justice.

The vote by Ruppersberger demonstrates how out of touch with the people and how imprisoned he is with his obedience to Obama. Ruppersberger has displayed this type of poor judgment in the past when he supported the dangerous nuclear treaty with the Iranians.   He made comments in a radio interview claiming the Muslim Brotherhood was a group we could deal with. After taking power in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood shredded that nation’s Constitution and began murdering Muslims and Christians. I believe that poor judgment, such as this, puts America at risk.

Those who voted with Ruppersberger claim this new law will endanger our military with lawsuits for those serving around the world. They are wrong. Our soldiers do not engage in terrorism. Moreover, Obama supports the United Nation’s International Court System which would permit foreign countries to execute lawsuits against United States military personnel. It should be noted that Democratic Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin voted against Obama and Ruppersberger. Senator Cardin said, “I believe the risks of shielding of terrorism are far greater than the risks this legislation may pose to America around the world.”

President Obama is a lame duck whose political power and influence are on the decline, except with rubber stamp politicians such as Dutch Ruppersberger. His failure to support the override of the veto sends a message to the Saudi’s, ISIS, and Al-Qaida that there would be no punishment of those nations who finance or assist in murderous terrorist actions.

I believe this type of legislation will help protect American citizens against future terrorist attacks because it sets a precedent that we will fight the battle against terrorism in the future on multiple fronts including the American judicial system.

Delegate McDonough is campaigning against Congressman Ruppersberger for his seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for Maryland’s Second District.

Support Question A, the Charter Review Commission

- By Councilman David Marks (R-5) -
On the November ballot, voters will be asked to support a change to Baltimore County’s charter that would create a charter review commission. The ballot measure is Question A.

I was the principal sponsor of the legislation that authorized this to go before Baltimore County’s voters. The bill passed unanimously, with support from every Democratic and Republican County Councilmember.

Should this change be approved by the voters, a Charter Review Commission would be created in the seventh year of each decade to look at the efficiency and operations of county government. The commission would have bipartisan representation.

Other jurisdictions have this mechanism as well. In Anne Arundel and Montgomery Counties, the commissions have broader responsibilities or meet on a more regular basis. But Baltimore County has not had a charter review in 25 years.

We live in difficult times. Taxpayers expect government to deliver services in a cost-effective manner. There is no harm in looking at our governing document periodically to make sure that our government is acting as efficiently and effectively as possible.

'Deplorable' lives matter

- By Delegate Pat McDonough (R-7) -
In a recent speech to the LGBT community, Hillary Clinton stated in part, “You could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables’ who are the racists, sexists, homophobics, xenophobics, Islamophobics - you name it.” This is the same presidential candidate who expressed, in numerous speeches, a desire to unite the country. Her previous comment is hypocrisy on steroids when it comes to promoting unity.

Clinton’s remarks are similar to those expressed by then-presidential candidate Barrack Obama in 2008 when he stated, “It’s not surprising they get bitter; they cling to guns, religion or antipathy for anyone who is not like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment.” Presidential candidate Obama was attacking what he considered to be the “deplorable” Americans of that election.

These types of comments are becoming typical of the modern left, the power elite and the radical Democratic Party. The Democratic Party of today is not the party of our parents or grandparents. Harry S. Truman or John F. Kennedy could not capture the presidential nomination of their party in today’s world of radical left policies. The patriotic Democrats of Dundalk, Essex, Middle River and other communities have as much in common with the Clintons, Obamas and Dutch Ruppersbergers of the world as a dog and cat sharing a meal. The power elite and the establishment love to demonize working people, moderates, conservatives and independents. They will attack anyone who does not worship at the altar of big government, the entitlement culture, politically correct censorship and the promotion of a weaker America.

The truth of the matter is the “deplorables,” as defined by Clinton, are sick and tired of living in a world where jobs disappear and are no longer available, young people are victimized by heroin, and illegal immigrants and radical Jihadi’s flow into our communities through open borders created by Clinton, Obama and others. While we suffer from these policies, Clinton attends million-dollar fundraisers in upscale California mansions, headlined by the likes of Barbara Striesand. Dutch Ruppersberger, who has endorsed Clinton and votes with Obama 92 percent of the time, sits on more than a million dollars in campaign funds which he extracted from special interest groups that the Congressman regulates.

The liberal biased media protects Clinton and the Baltimore Sun censors any information about the Pat McDonough Congressional campaign vs. the Dutch Ruppersberger campaign. That tactic is used to keep the so-called “deplorables” in the dark and uninformed.

The transformation of America by President Obama, Hillary Clinton and Dutch Ruppersberger has made it clear that the nation is moving in the wrong direction. This is the last generation that can make a difference and change our course. It’s not only time to make America great again, it is time to make America greater than ever. It is time to rise to the occasion, answer the call and prove on election day to Clinton, Obama and Ruppersberger that, indeed, “deplorable lives matter.”

I, personally, no matter what label Hillary would bestow on me, would rather continue to be a representative who speaks the truth and who always puts my constituents and their needs above all else.
