First Class Incorporated/Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor: New Name, Same Quality Service and Commitment

Article and photo by Lena Sala

From the beginning, Fleming & Sheeley, Inc. has been a native of the Baltimore, Essex, Rosedale area. The first showroom was located right along Eastern Avenue along with a warehouse location on Moravia Park Drive. After several years in these locations, it was decided to consolidate the two locations into one multipurpose location. At this time Fleming & Sheeley, Inc. moved its Moravia Park Drive location and the Eastern Avenue location to Rosedale, on Yellow Brick Road. This location on Yellow Brick Road had four separate dedicated showrooms, and ample office and warehouse space. The Yellow Brick Road location was home to Fleming & Sheeley, Inc. until just a few months ago. Very recently the former General Manager Ed Berdych, former Office Manager Jennifer Johnson and former Sales Representative Reese Rosenbloom decided to open a new corporation, First Class Incorporated/Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor. The new First Class Incorporated is located at 6917 Golden Ring Road. They still have about 90 percent of the displays that were in the last location and still have a combined office, showroom and warehouse. We just want our homeowners and the public to know that First Class Incorporated/Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor offers the same great products and services as well as convenience, noted Berdych, who is now the Vice President at the Golden Ring location. According to Rosenbloom, who is now President of First Class Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor, the new corporation is still using the eco-friendly products that Fleming & Sheeley Inc. used as a way to support the GO GREEN movement, such as bamboo and specialty carpet known as Smart Strand, that is made out of corn, and Marmoleum, whose products are asthma and allergy friendly. Marmoleum also eliminates any mold and mildew. You will find carpets made with Magic Fresh, which absorbs and dissipates many common household odors, cigarette smoke and pet odors. This carpet actually dissipates the fumes from the source of the odor over a short time to eliminate it. You will also find carpet that is made out of P.E.T. Polyester. The interesting fact about this carpet is that every strand is made from recycled two-liter plastic bottles. Surprisingly, this carpet is very soft and is very stain resistant. Smart Strand carpet is also stain resistant and has been Rhino Tested, which mean pieces of this carpet were put inside the rhinos cage and the rhino was able to do what he wanted to this carpet. Once removed from the rhinos cage, the carpet was deep cleaned, looking as good as new. First Class Incorporated/Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor offers a variety of products such as area rugs, carpet, hardwood, tile/stone and laminate. A very unique product they offer is rubber floors, made out of recycled airplane tires. Rosenbloom and Berdych both noted this type of floor was installed in an exercise room inside a Cockeysville fire station. This type of floor is great for people with weight rooms who are worried about their equipment scratching the floor, said Berdych. It would also be very beneficial if installed inside a playroom for your child and their friends to have a safe and fun experience. If you are looking for a floor that is less harsh on your knees and comfortable to walk on, make sure you ask the experts about their Comfortflex flooring. The new location is offering specials right now during their grand opening celebration, such as Armstrong vinyl flooring for 12 X 9 space for only $559 and Konecto Wood Look Floating Floor for 12 X 9 space for $759, both of which include molding and installation. First Class Incorporated/Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor also offers a one year installation warranty, in addition to all manufacturers warranties. Upon your visit to their new location, make sure you check out their design showroom or call about their Shop at Home service, where the experts come to you with samples of different products for you to peruse. First Class Baltimore Abbey Carpet & Floor is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. For more information, visit www.baltimore.abbeycarpet.com or call 443-460-4600. .
