For the last
25 years the Amish Farmers Market at The Plaza Flea Market has provided
Dundalk and surrounding communities with the most delectable baked
goods, mouthwatering smoked and fresh meats, rotisserie chicken and
so much more. Along with the The Plaza Flea Market, there have been
speculations and rumors that the Amish Farmers Market will be moving
locations because another company has bought the location or because
a new Farmers Market has opened up in Joppatowne, so the public has
assumed vendors have packed their bags and closed up shop here in
Dundalk. This couldn't be further from the truth! Yes, there is a
new location in Joppatowne, but the Amish Farmers Market that consists
of 300 vendors will continue to provide the community with their homemade
goods straight from Lancaster County. Some of the vendors include
Kountry Korners, where you and your family can pick up tasty snacks
including soft pretzels and pepperoni and cheese all wrapped in pretzel
dough! If you have more of a sweet tooth then you may want to stop
by Ebersol's Bakeshoppe, where you can check out a variety of sweet
treats, including cheesecake pies, doughnuts, cookies and much more.
Your taste buds will be sure to thank you! This market even makes
smoothies at their Dutch Country Produce vendor and you can be sure
its going to be made straight from fresh fruit. Along with smoothies,
you will find veggie and fruit trays, chocolate covered strawberries
and oranges. According to Stoltzfus, a vendor of 10 years at the Market,
the community has no need to worry about them moving. We have been
hearing through customers for the last two years now that we will
no longer be in this location, but I want to assure everyone that
we are not closing, revealed Stoltzfus. The market currently opened
up a new booth where you can purchase Amish made furniture and crafts.
The Amish Farmers Market is located at 2401 North Point Road, exit
40 off the Beltway.
