Ready to Refurnish? Visit Chesapeake Home Furnishings

In these tough economic times, many of us are staying home more. As a result, we're taking notice of all of the home improvement projects and redecorating we really need to do, especially with the holidays approaching soon. We'll likely be doing more entertaining in our homes in the coming months, rather than going out, since it's cheaper to stay home. Of course, we want our homes to look great for ourselves and for our guests. Do you really want your in-laws to have to sleep on that lumpy mattress you've had in the guest room for more than 20 years when they come to visit? Well, maybe you do, since they'll be less likely to stay longer than a couple of days. But surely you'd like to have your friends over to watch the Ravens game one Sunday. Wouldn't it be nice if you had a sofa they could sit on that doesn't noticeably sag in the middle and have a huge Wite-Out stain on the arm from your 10-year-old's carelessness. (What in the world was she doing with Wite-Out in the living room, anyway!?!) Whether you're looking to refurnish your bedroom, living room or dining room, Chesapeake Home Furnishings in Middle River can hook you up with quality furniture at an economical price. Conveniently located in the Costco Shopping Plaza on Pulaski Highway, the 40,000 square-foot store opened June 1. Owner Lester Bauguess opened the new location in anticipation of the area's growth expected from BRAC, expanding his family-owned and operated business from its original location in Aberdeen. The original Chesapeake Home Furnishings store opened in 2002 in a building previously owned by Bauguess' father. My parents owned five furniture stores back in the '60s, he explained. Though he first went his own way, opening a car lot in Aberdeen, Bauguess eventually decided to get back into the family business of furniture. Chesapeake Home Furnishing sells mostly Ashley furniture, which happens to be the number one selling home furniture brand in North America. You can't beat it for the looks and the price, Bauguess claims. Our furniture has more eye appeal than the competition. The furniture not only looks great, the prices are reasonable as well. We sell cheaper and we're value driven, states Bauguess. Great specials featured for the month of October at the store include whole room packages. For example, customers can purchase a 14-piece living room package for just $999. That includes the sofa, loveseat, cocktail table, two end tables, rug, 5-piece accessory set, two lamps and a chenille throw. Maybe you actually enjoy your in-laws and would like to fix up the guest room and replace the mattress before their visit. You can purchase a 13-piece bedroom package, which includes headboard, dresser, mirror, nightstand, four-piece comforter set and 5-piece accessory set for just $999. As for mattresses, choose from brand names such as Sealy or Simmons. Twin mattresses start at just $99. Thinking you just want to replace your living room sofa before your friends come over to watch the game? Check out the huge selection of sofas in a wide variety of styles. You might want to pick up a new entertainment console while you're there too. Of course, you want to be sure you're getting the most for your money, so before you make a purchase, it makes sense that you'll shop around. But Bauguess predicts, Shop us once, and you'll come back and buy. Chesapeake Home Furnishings is located at 9977 Pulaski Highway in Middle River. Hours are Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon - 4 p.m. For more information, call 410-238-2121. Though the store does not have its own website, if you'd like to take a look at Ashley furniture, visit www.ashleyfurniture.com.
