Fresh Local Seafood on the Menu at Vince’s Crab House
It’s no secret that Baltimoreans love their steamed crabs. Local Maryland
crabs are the best, of course, and we must support our local watermen.
Vince Meyer, himself a waterman for more than 20 years, opened his
own crab house with wife Brenda four years ago. Vince’s Crab House
began its operation at Sue Island Yacht Bar but recently relocated
in order to expand. Now located on Compass Road in Middle River, the
carry-out serves up a variety of fresh seafood to tantalize your tastebuds.
Though some folks associate eating crabs with the warm summer weather,
the Meyers admit, “Fall crabs are the best crabs!” Crabs from Vince’s
Crab House are all Maryland crabs, caught fresh daily off of the “Brittany
Lynn,” and are steamed to order. And what’s a crab feast without corn
on the cob? Fresh local corn is also available, as it’s the perfect
accompaniment. In addition to crabs, the family-owned and operated
business also features shrimp, oysters, mussels, clams, snow crab
legs and much more. They even feature a lunch and dinner menu, with
daily lunch specials. “We make our own salads, soups, crab cakes,
crab imperial, crab dips, crab pretzels, stuffed shrimp and fish,”
Vince explains. “We also have seafood platters and fried soft crabs.”
On Monday nights, check out the NFL Special, and on Wednesdays enjoy
$1 crabs all day. The Thursday special is one dozen crabs, one pound
of steamed shrimp and two pieces of corn for $29.99. Voted Baltimore’s
Best Crabs from their customers and the home of the Maryland Jumbo,
the crab house is open all year round. The Meyers advise, “Call ahead
and we will have your crabs ready for you when you come in.” Vince’s
Crab House is located at 610 Compass Rd. in Middle River. Fall hours
of operation are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from noon - 8 p.m.,
Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 7
p.m. The carry-out is closed on Tuesday. For more information, call
